DPW Departments
The Highway Department's primary responsibility is the maintenance, construction, and repair of approximately 150 miles of public roadways.
The Harwich Transfer Station, open seven days a week from 8am - 4pm, 362 days a year, actually consists of three separate operations on one site. The Transfer Station accepts household waste, also known as municipal solid waste (MSW), from residents and commercial haulers.
The Building Maintenance Department is responsible for the repair and maintenance of town-owned buildings.
The Park Department is responsible for the care and maintenance of the Town's parks and beaches.
The Cemetery Department is responsible for the care, maintenance, preservation, and improvement of over 98 acres of Town-owned cemeteries.
